Repitch Plug-in Versions and DAWs
RePitch Versions
The installers for macOS and Windows OS will install all the RePitch plugin formats discussed below.
Only some will work with your DAW and those that are supported by your DAW will appear in your DAW's plugin lists.

What are the differences between ARA Capture and VST3 or AU (RealTime Capture)?
The next two sections explain in more detail the features, benefits and issues of the two types of plugin operation.
VST/AU ARA Plugin Features
- Fast capture of audio
- Ease of setup
- Processing of entire tracks, audio clips/events or both, depending on host DAW,
- Transportable projects – the DAW takes care of loading and saving all ARA data.
- Instant replay of processed signals.
- Control from the plugin of the position of the DAW’s playback cursor and Playback Loop range
- Tracking of Bar/Beats
WARNING: The RePitch ARA plugin must be the first plugin in the effects chain, And there can be only ONE ARA plugin in a chain. This means you cannot applying RePitch and any other ARA plugin (e.g., VocAlign or Melodyne, etc) to the same segment of audio. |
WARNING: The time range of the processed signal using ARA is limited to the exact time range of the Dub. For example, if the user stretches RePitch's audio beyond the ending of the original audio, the DAW will not replay the audio beyond the end of the original audio. However, in nearly all cases this limitation does not cause any problems. |
VST/AU - Real-Time Capture Plugin Features
- Audio capture is more flexible than with ARA, as the ‘captured audio’ can span any number of audio segments and the areas of silence between them.
- Instant replay of plug-ins' processed signals.
- The capture of audio happens in real time. A 30 second piece of audio takes 30 seconds to capture.
- However, some DAWs will support capturing multiple tracks of audio at the same time into multiple tracks with RePitch inserted and armed for capture.
- It is usually much slower to process a project using the real time plugin than it is to process the same project using the ARA plugin.
- You cannot reposition the DAW’s playback cursor from within the VST/AU plugin.
